With my “BARRE” classes, expect to a see high-energy workout with small “pulsing” isometric movements. My class is timed to music, incorporating arm exercises, pulsing, leg lifts, intense glute work, tons of core work, while at times utilizing a bar (do not worry if you do not have one!). This is not a ballet class and is probably very different than any other Barre class or ANY class you’ve ever taken! Most people who take my classes do not have an actual bar. You can use a chair or other pieces of furniture. We make it work! We also use dumbbells and several Body By Andrea pieces of equipment that you will want to have for class. These items can be found on my website.
I am often changing my choreography and programming to keep things fresh. You will not get the same LIVE class twice. I create and design new workouts for you each time I teach. You have the option to take class with me or access it right here with my Video Library.
My classes are challenging, but also low-impact with a LOT of movements being down on the floor. They can help you build strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. Think light weights, HIGH reps. Barre classes are typically suitable for all fitness levels. They can be a fun and effective way to improve on many different things, including body tone & muscle definition. I have been hooked on Barre since 2013! Nothing compares to this type of muscle BURN!
With my “STRENGTH” classes, expect to a see a high-energy workout with larger movements using mostly dumbbells to build muscle strength. It can also incorporate techniques such as bodyweight exercises, isometrics, and plyometrics. You will notice an improvement in your physical strength after consistent strength/resistance training. This is a great addition to my low impact Barre Training workouts. The combination of both is a recipe for SUCCESS!
Begin with a weight that you can comfortably lift 12 to 15 times
Gradually increase the amount of weight as you get stronger
Focus on proper form
Try 2-3 times a week
Add in cardio as much as you can within a 7-day period

My classes are challenging, but they are for all fitness levels, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced. We all start somewhere and with different levels of strength and endurance.
